Atebubu Traditional Council of the bono East Region have appealed to President Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo, to consider the good works done by the Municipal Chief Executive (MCE) Hon.Edward Owusu and retain him as the MCE.
According to them, the current MCE has demonstrated a good personal working relationship with the chiefs, traditional office holders, religious leaders, and the youth.
This request came to light as the acting Municipal Chief Executive Hon.Edward Owusu together with his entourage and Nananom commissioned ultra Modern Health Center at Atebubu Zongo and also handed over two mechanized borehole to the people of Atebubu.
Addressing the press conference on Thursday, 15,4, 2021, Nana Afuah Donyina II, the Queenmother of Atebubu Traditional Area stated that since President Akufo-Addo appointed Edward Owusu as the MCE, he has worked hard to bring socio-economic development and growth to the area.
"We are appealing to our President to re-appoint our MCE because he has the capability to transform the area and as the head of the Assembly, Mr.Owusu always ensured an equitable distribution of resources available to the Assembly.
According to the Queenmother, their MCE has performed extremely well in his first term which has helped to changed the face of Atebubu Amantin with unprecedented developmental projects and therefore needs to be retained to continue his good work.
"Mr. President Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo changing Hon Edward Owusu will cause a delay in the progress of Atebubu Amantin considering the service he has rendered to the Municipality since his appointment.
We are very impressed about the numerous projects done by the mce , especially the constitution of the High Court complex which will help to reduced the crime. rate in the Municipality, Nana add.
The Queenmother once again commended the mce for using Internal Generated fund (IGF) to execute this projects,
Construction of female ward at Atebubu Government hospital,
Supply and installation of street lighting system (1.5KM),
Renovation of Social Wel. & CD Office Block,
Renovation of 1No. 3Unit Teachers Quarters,
Completion of NHIS Office Block,
Construction of Municipal Court Complex,
Renovation of the Atebubu Main Market phase 1,
Supply of 2No. Canoes,
Renovation of two (2) unit Prim. classroom block,
Renovation of three units JHS classroom blocks,
Renovation of three(3) units classroom blocks,
Roofing of Atsec model School block,
Installation of Street light at new Konkrompe garden eggs market,
Renovation of Ahotor School,
Supply of 2No. motorbikes to the police service,
Supply of polytank to JatoZongo Community,
Rehabilitation of Amanten water project etc.
Again the Overlord of Atebubu Zongo (Atebubu Zongo Hene) Dufailu Moro Osman also added his voice by appealing to President to retain Hon.Edward Owusu based on his hard work.
He said Hon Edward Owusu has done his best by helping the people of Atebubu Zongo to get their share of the national cake.
