I Have Not Asked Delegates To Change NPP Executives -Obiri Boahen Debunks Report

Deputy General Secretary of the ruling New Patriotic Party (NPP), Nana Obiri Boahen has debunked a story attributed to him that the party delegates should vote out all the executives in the next internal elections to choose leaders for the party.

According to the online story captured by GhanaWeb, Nana Obiri Boahen is purported to have said that the current executives of the ruling New Patriotic Party (NPP) are partly responsible for the kind of results and defeat in the Parliamentary election.

But reacting to the publication on Okay FM’s 'Ade Akye Abia' Morning Show, Nana Obiri Boahen discredited the story saying that he never made such a comment on any platform as reported by the online news website.

He disclosed that he asked Ghanaweb to render an apology for lifting and publishing a false story about him without verifying the authenticity of the information, chiding the website for acting unprofessionally.

“So, if you lift a story from another website, don’t you have the sense to cross-check with me the information you have? I want listeners of Okay FM to take note that I cannot say that,” he debunked.

He added that he cannot ask the party delegates to vote against Kwame Baffoe who happens to be his nephew and the Ashanti Regional Chairman, Bernard Antwi Boasiako who is also his client.

“I introduced Kwame Baffoe Abronye DC into politics and he is my nephew. How can I ask delegates to vote against him? Chairman Wontumi is my client and I campaigned for him to win the chairmanship position. How can I ask the delegates to vote against him?”, he wondered.
