'Don't Take The People Who Vote For You For Granted' - Politicians Cautioned

Atik Mohammed has advised politicians who make promises to electorates in exchange for their votes to make sure they fulfil them.

He asked politicians not to take electorates or their party delegates for granted, hence making promises but failing to honour their words to the people who vote them into power.

Atik Mohammed was discussing the aftermath of the Kumawu by-election as both the governing New Patriotic Party and opposition National Democratic Congress prepare for the Assin North by-election to be held on Tuesday, June 27.

He explained on Peace FM's morning show "Kokrokoo" that political figures seem to play on the minds of electorates, forgetting they will always come back to them requesting their votes again.

"Don't take people who vote for you for granted. The fact that they vote for you doesn't mean you shouldn't fulfil your promise to them," he cautioned.
