Former President John Dramani Mahama has slammed President Akufo-Addo and vice president Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia, describing them as the biggest scam ever seen in Ghana’s political space since independence.
Speaking to electorates at Nareligu in the North East region as part of his ‘Building Ghana Tour’, the former President and the incumbent Presidential candidate for the opposition National Democratic Congress (NDC), mentioned that, the incumbent government has failed all Ghanaians on every side.
According to him, the Nana Addo-Bawuimia government failed to deliver on their mandate as a government thereby plunging Ghanaians into severe poverty and economic hardship.
Sharing his vision with them, Mr. Mahama mentioned that his government will be a listening one that will have the welfare of every Ghanaian at heart while rendering the needed and necessary services Ghanaian want.
Speaking about the upcoming December 7 general elections, Mr. Mahama bemoaned the electorates to make an informed decision.
According to him, a vote for the New Patriotic Party will be a vote for another four years of gruesome economic turmoil.
He, therefore, admonished the people of the North East region to vote massively for the NDC government in order to restore the fortunes of the country.
Speaking further in Nareligu on Tuesday, April 16, Mr. Mahama said, “Akufo-Addo/Bawumia administration is the biggest political scam in the history of the 4th republic. Ghanaians are called upon again on 7th December 2024 to exercise their mandate and make a choice. And after what we have gone through in 7 and a half years, it surprises me [that] anybody will still go to the ballot box and say he’s going to vote for NPP again.”
He further added, “Maybe those who have made money under this government, yes, they will go and vote again. But I know that the majority of Ghanaians have seen a reversal in the quality of their lives, in these seven and a half years.”
He added that, the Nana Addo government, ever since assuming office has only made himself and his close family rich thereby leaving Ghanaians to wallow in abject poverty. According to him, there were many interventions and solutions that the erstwhile government provided but the current government have mismanaged the economy and the numerous financial resources left.
