On fire Borussia Dortmund starlet Erling Haaland has been crowned 2020 Golden Boy following his astounding performance in his debut year with the German club.
Last year's award, which was handed by Italian newspaper Tuttosport, was won by Portuguese starlet Joao Felix. This award can only be presented to players under the age of 21 playing their trade in Europe's top-tier league.
This year, however, Norway international Haaland emerged as the winner of the prestigious award defeating competitions like his team-mate Jadon Sancho, Manchester United forward Mason Greenwood, Barcelona starlet Ansu Fati and Bayern Munich winger and left-back Alphonso Davies to victory.
Barcelona youngster Fati became the runner-up in the voting as Bayern's Davies ended up third. Sancho and Renne's young midfielder Eduardo Camavinga claimed the fourth and fifth rank to round up the top five on the list.
For the 2019/20 campaign, Haaland was able to bag 44 goals in 40 games in all competitions, with 16 goals scored from his 18 appearances in the Austrian League for RB Salzburg before his transfer moves to Borussia Dortmund in January this year.
In his debut half-season in the Bundesliga, among all Bundesliga players to net 10 goals, only Bayern Munich striker Robert Lewandowski (81.2) had the best minute-per-goal record than the Norway international (81.7) for the 19/20 league campaign.

"At the moment it's not in Erling's or my head that another club will be vying for him. We signed a long contract with Dortmund and they have a fantastic team for Erling right now. We don't want to look any further ahead."
When asked if a transfer could happen when the season ends, he said: "You never know what will happen. We haven't talked about such a step yet. I think he would like to win some trophies with Dortmund. That is his goal. Erling can still achieve a lot in Germany and make great progress. Moving abroad is not a priority for us.
"I sometimes think he wants to and can assert himself in any league. At the moment, he is happy in the Bundesliga and focused on Dortmund. He just wants to be a better player and doesn't look too far ahead."
