Betway Ghana Staff Undergo Annual Compliance Training

Staff of Betway Ghana, a leading online sports betting company in Ghana have undergone training on combating the financing of terrorism and anti-money laundering.



The staff from the operations and marketing units were taken through topics such as basic concepts of money laundering, terrorist financing and responsibilities of accountable institutions at the day-long training at their Corporate Office in Adabraka.

The training which was facilitated by personnel from the Financial Intelligence Centre was led by the Head of Compliance, Seth Nana Amoako.

The yearly programme brings new and old staff up to speed with the newest developments in the sector and is part of the brands' commitment to ensuring that employees and stakeholders are compliant with rules and regulations that uplift the growing gaming industry.

Magnus Rex Danquah Jnr., Country Manager – Operations at Betway speaking to media present said the training workshops are organized to heighten the knowledge and understanding of sports betting regulatory compliance amongst team members. He further reiterated that Betway is committed to enforcing regulatory compliance in the industry.

“These workshops are meant to deepen our teams' knowledge and understanding of compliance with respect to Financial Intelligence. We will continue to work together with the Financial Intelligence Centre and the Gaming Commission of Ghana to enforce regulatory compliance and encourage responsible gaming”.
